Established in 1899 in the cold area of Asahikawa. This brewery takes advantage of the nature and harsh cold of the area to make the dry, refined sake "Kokushimusou" and the "Daiginjo Ichiya Shizuku", which is pressed in a unique ice dome built in the brewery grounds. The Takasago Brewery puts a great deal of effort into brewing Hokkaido sake made entirely with local rice and water, and offers a wide range of unique local products such as unpasteurised pure sake and sweet half sake made using the mould grown on rice at the start of the brewing process in the Takasago Meiji Wine Cellar.
